WATERS RIFLEMAN - WR HOWA 1500 S/A & WEATHERBY VANGUARD FLOORPLATE BOTTOM METAL TRIGGER GUARD - SKU: WRFP-HOWA-SA

FLOORPLATE BOTTOM METAL TRIGGER GUARD with AI profile magwell chute - HOWA 1500 Short Action - WEATHERBY VANGUARD

A floorplate that allows the use of an AICS pattern detachable magazine for one of the most popular rifles in Australia. Development started in 2013. Thanks to some local input, the final design was complete in Nov 2018. All results for the floorplate are positive, especially to provide a low cost reliable detachable magazine soluiton.

This floorplate is made to take the AI and AICS design magazine. NOTE, for HOWA solutions, the WR AI CS clone magazine is highly recommended because it fits into a 1500 using this WR floorplate WITHOUT MODIFICATION to the top rear of other factory and aftermarket magazines (because factory and other magazines hit the HOWA rear receiver boss). This is a drop-in soluiton.

Some of the WR floorplate advantages are:

- Long release leaver, for simple and rapid mag changes. Well weighted release lever return spring.

- Larger trigger guard for shooting with a glove, and wider trigger guard as a possible support.

- Stainless Steel hex head take-down bolts.

- Heavily chamfered mag port entry for speed of inserting the magazine.

- Aluminium 7075 material, finished in hard black anodise.

- Extended integrated magazine well to ensure smooth and effective mag insertion and removal.

- Weight 110g / 3.88oz.

IMPORTANT NOTE

For a standard AICS pattern magazine to fit, a small modification is required. This is NOT because of the WR floorplate. It is because the Howa receiver design has a large boss at the front of the trigger. A standard AICS pattern magazine will hit the boss when the mag moves up into the receiver, preventing secure latching.
The magazine top rear requires a small chamfer. This will allow the magazine to avoid the Howa boss so the mag will lock into place.
TO DO:
5mm long, 5mm deep, 9.5mm wide.
Suggested tool is a square file, or something similar.
Est 3 minutes to complete.
This modification is required on EVERY brand of magazine (that WR know off).
