Developed after months of extensive testing, the 75 grain #1600 Hollow Point bullet was designed to be a highly accurate varmint bullet for the 250-3000 Savage, 257 Roberts, and cartridges of similar case capacity. However, this bullet has proven to be incredibly accurate at even the highest velocities, giving explosive expansion in varmints and small game at all reasonable ranges. It is an excellent choice for all varmint hunting or target shooting applications in 25 caliber cartridges up to and including the 257 Weatherby Magnum.

As a hunting bullet these have been used in the 25-223 for more than 40 years by my hunting buddy and more than 31 years by myself. At 3000 fps they reliably down cats, foxes, goats, dogs and with well placed shots down donkeys, one shot kill at distances up to 40 metres. Sierra discontinuing this projectile is a massive blow to shooters who rely on the performance and accuracy achievable with it.
